They simulate different levels of impairment

Our original goggle product, Fatal Vision® Alcohol Impairment Simulation Goggles, is available in five different BAC simulation levels. The different levels can help illustrate that it does not take drinking in excess to feel the effects of alcohol, and how binge drinking severely affects one’s ability to do basic tasks.

Some models can sync with a smartphone

The goggles in the Fatal Vision® Drowsy and Distracted Driving Goggles Campaign Kit are configured and controlled through Bluetooth using a free smartphone app. You can choose between different impairment modes, like Distracted Dial, Distracted Text, and Drowsy, to portray the dangers of each of these driving activities. You can also find in-app drowsy and distracted driving education materials like instructional videos, activities, and a user guide.

They can be used in combination with driving simulators

Our vision impairment goggles can be used with one of our driving simulators to help engage students even more with the lessons from your prevention program. Commonly, driving simulators are used in combination with our goggles to give a hands-on experience that’s engaging and entertaining while keeping participants safe.

Both our Simulated Impaired Driving Experience® (SIDNE®) and the Fatal Vision® Roadster Pedal Kart are great options to add to your program. Read more about both of these options in our blog FAQs About Our Distracted Driving Simulators

They’re created by experts in the field with community input

Our team listens to requests and suggestions from customers and organizations that may have a new idea for our vision impairment simulation glasses. When we receive enough interest in a particular product or topic, we start researching the possibility of creating a new product to address that need.

A great example of this is our Polydrug [Alcohol & Marijuana] Goggles. Polydrug use has been on the rise in recent years, which led to the community requesting goggles that address its unique effects. Once the product development team had an idea of how this new product would work, they consulted with experts to help create the first iteration of the goggles. The product prototypes were then tested and tweaked until the goggles were ready for production.
