This THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) educational toolkit simulates the lack of perception and diminished reaction time caused by recreational THC use. Through a series of activities, participants will explore the dangers of drug use while driving and engaging in other daily activities. This engaging tool simulates how THC affects essential abilities by demonstrating the impact on short-term memory loss, impaired executive function, altered visual perception, and motor coordination.
How It Works: The THC Goggle is a tool that impairs a person’s ability to perceive color (NOTE: someone under the influence of THC DOES NOT lose their ability to distinguish between colors). We use this feature of the goggle along with specially designed activities to model some of THC’s impairing effects – i.e., the loss of a participant‘s capacity to make quick and accurate decisions, which can lead to potentially dangerous consequences, especially for an impaired driver.
The THC kits also include education and prevention instructional materials and videos to help you use the THC goggles with custom-designed activities. These activities give participants an understanding of some of the potentially severe consequences that can result from THC use.
