CREATING NEW PERSPECTIVES TO PROMOTE HEALTHY CHOICES

Build Awareness About Concussions

Concussion Goggles

Why?
A traumatic brain injury (TBI) can happen to anyone. Building awareness is the first step toward concussion prevention and recovery.

The CDC reports that the amount of reported concussions has doubled in the last ten years. High school football accounts for 47 percent of all reported sports concussions, with 33 percent of concussions occurring during practice.

What is a Concussion?
A concussion is a brain injury. A  bump or blow to the head can cause concussions. Even a “ding,” “getting your bell rung, “or what seems to be a mild bump or blow to the head can be severe.

Educate About the Impact of a Concussion
You can’t see a concussion, but you can have someone experience the effects of a concussion safely with the use of the Fatal Vision® Concussion Goggles. The goggles and designed activities create hands-on awareness specifically constructed to simulate the potentially debilitating effects of a TBI.

Many customers use these goggles to deliver programs to athletic associations, schools, and community organizations. Build awareness about concussions, helmet use, and the importance of following prescribed recovery protocols.

Modeled Impairments
Participants, when performing simple activities while wearing the goggles, will experience simulated TBI symptoms such as:

  • Dizziness
  • Visual disconnect
  • Disorientation
  • Hesitation
  • Apprehension
  • Confusion
  • Lack of confidence
